Conventional Septic Systems
A conventional septic system is the most common type, consisting of a septic tank that collects and partially treats household wastewater before releasing it into a drainfield (leach field). The soil naturally filters and treats the wastewater as it percolates down, making it a simple and cost-effective option where soil and site conditions are suitable.
Pressure Dose Septic Systems
A pressure dose system works similarly but includes a pump chamber that evenly distributes treated wastewater across the drainfield under pressure. This ensures better dispersion, prevents overloading in one area, and allows use on sites with shallow soils, slopes, or less favorable conditions where a conventional system would not function properly.
